The new IMSA Traffic Signal Technician 1 Exam Prep Course is designed to review the fundamentals and terminology of how today’s sophisticated Traffic Signals operate. The certification exam is geared toward entry-level technicians who have prior basic knowledge of electrical technology, construction, and computers. Worksite and electrical safety are key skills that are addressed in this certification prep. The exam tests knowledge of basic electrical and operating principles of Cabinets, the tools, materials, and basic construction processes used to build traffic signal systems; basic maintenance, and legal concerns. With the right supervision and direction, this certification holder is ready to contribute to any traffic signal crew working on construction, maintenance, or design. This Certification is the prerequisite for the Level II Signal Certifications along with the Traffic Signal Inspection Certification.

Prerequisite: Current Temporary Traffic Control Certificaiton, 1 year experience in the related certification field.
